Liturgical Year

One Saint a week

I decided to go along with our nightly prayer corner to learn about one saint a week.  (pics to follow)

This week we did: Kateri Tekakwitha.  She has a wonderful story.  My daughter really enjoyed hearing her story.  We made a headband found on the site Crafolic (which I love!)  We also found some twigs and wrapped them with yarn just like Kateri did in the forest.

Her feast day is July 14th.

 The Body of Christ

We have been talking about the body of Christ this week because on Thursday is Corpus Christi.  With Cosette being so young at age five we talked about what it means to be a part of church, part of the 'body of Christ."

The scripture we are focusing on in our prayer corner:

(if anyone is looking for professional photography on this blog, chances are you will watch me get better over time....but professional photos no. ;)

Our family is getting back to the church after being away...our focus is really to get back into the community.  Andrew has practiced to be a reader.  He is interested in the liturgy.  I don't have a passion for it like he does.  I am more behind the scenes: catechism, Sunday school, church picnics etc.  We have been praying on how to use our gifts to serve others.  I want to kids to know how large their church family can be!  We are encouraging Cosette's creativity at our prayer corner where she can add what she is thinking about.

I am working on posting a segment called, "What we are reading."  Our whole family loves books and we have piles of books on the go most times.

It is rainy today so....indoor activities.

Blessings on your day.

Samantha
